This August, members of the Dundee Bahá'í community embarked on a wonderful journey to the picturesque Isle of Cumbrae for the Scottish Summer School. The short ferry crossing from Largs to Millport marked the beginning of four enriching days focused on strengthening family life, a theme particularly relevant in today's world.

The Field Studies Centre in Millport provided the perfect setting for this gathering, where Bahá'ís and friends of all ages, and backgrounds across Scotland and further afield came together for study, fellowship, and spiritual renewal. The accommodation details and programme schedules were thoughtfully organised, creating an atmosphere where participants and friends of Baha'is could focus entirely on learning and community building.
What made this experience particularly meaningful was the diversity of activities available. Beyond the formal courses and presentations, there were opportunities for creative expression, sports, and musical gatherings. The images from the summer school capture the joy and camaraderie that characterised the event, from dance sessions that brought everyone together regardless of age, to quiet moments of reflection and study.

The journey itself became part of the experience, with many participants and friends of Baha'is choosing to travel by public transport or car-sharing, reflecting the Bahá'í principle of care for our environment. The scenic ferry ride across the Firth of Clyde offered a moment of transition from daily routines to the focused atmosphere of learning that awaited.
For the Dundee friends, this summer school represented more than just an educational opportunity, it was a chance to strengthen bonds within their own community whilst connecting with fellow believers from other parts of Scotland. The theme of family life resonated deeply, offering practical insights for building stronger relationships and more vibrant communities.
As participants and friends of Baha'is returned to their respective homes, they carried with them not only new knowledge and perspectives, but also renewed enthusiasm for contributing to the spiritual and material progress of their communities.

The Dundee Bahá'í community welcomes all who are interested in exploring questions of spiritual and social development.
