The Dundee Bahá'í community recently gathered to celebrate the 9th Day of Ridván, one of the most significant Holy Days in the Bahá'í calendar. This special occasion commemorates when Bahá'u'lláh's family joined Him in the Garden of Ridván in Baghdad in 1863, where He had declared His divine mission as the Promised One awaited by all religions.

Our celebration combined with our regular Wednesday devotional, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere filled with prayer and fellowship. Six members of our community were joined by a friend of the Faith, embodying our commitment to inclusivity and openness to all seeking spiritual connection.

The gathering began with readings about the significance of Ridván, followed by a beautiful chanting of a Tablet about Ridván in Arabic. This multilingual approach to devotion reflects the universal nature of the Bahá'í Faith, which embraces diversity while promoting unity. Each person present then contributed prayers and readings of their own choosing, creating a tapestry of devotion that honoured this holy occasion.

Following the spiritual portion, attendees enjoyed refreshments and engaged in uplifting conversations. These moments of social connection are vital to our community life, allowing relationships to deepen and spiritual bonds to strengthen in an informal setting.

One participant described the gathering as "a warm, loving and peaceful space enjoyed by all" – precisely the environment we strive to create in all our activities. Such devotional gatherings exemplify our efforts to build a community characterised by love, unity, and spiritual growth.

The Dundee Bahá'í Community welcomes all who wish to join our regular devotional gatherings, which provide opportunities for prayer, reflection, and fellowship. These spaces allow us to step away from the busyness of daily life and connect with our spiritual nature in the company of friends.
