Devotional gatherings are simple programmes, free from rituals. Prayers or readings that uplift the spirit are read from the Bahá’í Writings or the Sacred Writings of other world religions in a meditative atmosphere.
While prayer is often a private matter, setting aside time for a moment of tranquillity to share a prayer with others, for healing or gratitude can be uplifting and strengthening.
Study Circles provide opportunities for a small group to follow a sequence of Baha'i courses. The first course, Reflections on the Life of the Spirit, explores the nature of the human soul, prayer, the purpose of life and death. Spiritual qualities are developed by reading and reflecting on the Bahá’í Writings. This creates a more profound awareness of the spiritual realities within each individual and empowers each person to find and follow his or her own spiritual path.
The courses are facilitated by a tutor and incorporate arts and social activities.
